Crossbows in Alabama

There will be a hearing dealing with the legalization of crossbow hunting in Alabama. The meeting will be held on August 5th in Montgomery and members of the Conservation Department Advisory Board will attend. In spite of published reports, the hearing will be held at 10:00 AM (not at 1:00 PM as reported in the Birmingham News). The meeting will be held on the 4th floor of the Folsom Administration Building at 64 N. Union Street.
Now is the time for Alabama bowhunters to step forward and speak out if you think the crossbow is a legitimate bow hunting weapon. If you wish to speak at the hearing, call Robyn Nummy in his office at 334-242-3486.

This hearing was arranged at the request of Alabama Bowhunters who are pulling out all stops to defeat this proposal that was passed unanimously by the Conservation Department's Advisory Board. These people will do anything to minimize the number of hunters during "their season." That's a long drive and I doubt they would want testimony from a "Yankee" anywho.

But WE will all be with you in spirit.

Speak you mind in clear and concise logic. Accentuate the positives of allowing the people of Alabama a choice in archery hunting tools.

Opportunity (more hunting), revenues producing (license sales, equipment sales and sales taxes) and help in managing the deer is just a few of teh positives

Do not let the BHA bully you and get you mad. Keep your cool at all times.
