Black Eagle arrows
There have been so many positive references to Black Eagle arrows on this forum that I am ready to give them a try. I went to their website and couldn't figure out what to order. I shoot an Axiom and don't know if I should buy Zombies or Executioners. Also, under the category of "fletched" there are options of 0001" and 0003". What is that about? And finally, Do they weigh the same as firebolts without a broadhead but with the standard insert? I would really appreciate some help. And I nearly forgot, do they use the same lumenocs as firebolts?

BEEs are in my opinion fine arrows BUT I cannot tell much difference between the BEEs and Firebolts. I only hunt with my CB so maybe some of the guys that do more target shooting will post in. You can call Jerry at

And he will fix you up. Jerry will also explain all of the options with the BEEs.
I would not hesitate to hunt with either brand as I think both are great arrows. JMHO

Re: Black Eagle arrows
I would choose BEEs for the Axiom, and if you plan to only hunt, save a few bucks and by the 0.003". That number is the straightness of the arrows. They sort them into 2 categories. 0.001" straightness and 0.003" (although I think many 003's are better than that). Not sure on the wt. of a Firebolt, but the BEE is 9.1gr/in and will be a lot stiffer than a Firebolt. That will translate into better accuracy. I would suggest getting BEEs with a 92 gr brass insert and fletched with Blazers. That should be an accurate arrow for you from your Axiom. Danny Miller or Jerry at South Shore are good resources for them.

Re: Black Eagle arrows
....Keith is spot on...just ordered a dozen of BEE and ZS .003's from Dan xcalibur....a good price and a pleasure to deal with...My theory is...I, for the most part only hunt and most likely will be hunting more and more with my Bada-Bing ...dressed in "pank", "poiple" and black thanks to brother Keith...with the "arra's" getting shorter and shorter and some practicing ahead of me just wanted to save a few bucks and did not believe the .001 vs .003 was a real issue.....nchunterkw wrote:I would choose BEEs for the Axiom, and if you plan to only hunt, save a few bucks and by the 0.003". Re: Black Eagle arrows
I have not noticed a difference between the .003" & .001" Either one of the BEE or Zombies would work great with the Axiom. I personally like the Zombies better for the extra stiffness, and it is more noticeable on the longer bolts.

Re: Black Eagle arrows
Are these arrows fletched with the stiff side of the spine between the hen vanes like Jerry from South Shore offers?

Thanks to everyone for helping to change some of my ignorance into knowledge. I didn't know that Danny Miller handled BEAs, but now that I do, I'll call him.
