mag tip limbs

how can you tell if your excal has mag tip limbs,im buying a exocet and guy says its a year old but doesnt know if it has mag tips,i know all 03 models do but i wanna be sure,whats diff between o2 and 03 models..??

The mag tip limbs are molded to hold the string. The older carved limb tips look like someone took a cutting saw and cut a notch in them to attach the string.

Thats what a mag tip looks like, a carved tip is cut like the limb on a trad bow. Mag tips are a separate piece put on a limb.

And Here is a pic of R.J.'s carved tips... No yours will not look this nice!!!

You can see how it looks like notches were cut out at the limb tips to attach the string. R.J., do you still have this bow?

Buckslayer, He was funnin'ya about being a 2002, my 2001 Emag (185lb) and 2001 Vixen both have mag tips .

Partikle : yep , I still have that one , it is my original Relayer that I had painted by another forum member DesertRat . He did a great job .

The bow is retired now but it still shoots great and I will probably get it out for a hunt or two this season .
