New Excal owner here!!!!
Hey all!
New Excal owner and new Forum member here. Seems like a pretty cool group on this Forum, been reading for a few weeks and helped me seal my interest in an Excalibur. Long and short of it is I’ve been a bow hunter a long time, and “inherited” a Parker Crossbow from a relative. Was fun to shoot around but never had the itch to hunt with it. Was at a BBQ and shot my friends Matrix 380 and let’s just say it got me thinking! The Parker was getting beat and needed a new string. I decided to give the Excals a try instead of dumping money into the Parker. My buddy had some warranty work done by Woody’s Sporting Goods and suggested I reach out to them. I checked their website and they had a “Build your Own” crossbow section for Excalibur. Not sure if this is the sort of thing anyone else took advantage of, but reading the forums I see some guys swap out bolts, triggers, scopes etc. from the package they bought. Not for nuthin’ that Parker had a slick Hawke scope on it that I wanted to keep using it, so it was cool to save money on that…which helped me get Executioner arrows in place of the Diablos so my friend and I could compare. Bow is on its way and I am super pumped to join the Excalibur family. Can’t wait for October now! It’s cool to have such an active forum to jump on, some of you are really helpful.

Congrats ! You'll love it I'm sure ! I'd suggest searching for threads regarding Brace Height and string maintenance .

Welcome UnluckyBuck,
Good choice and what ken said is absolutely true.
Dont forget brace height and ask questions, it will save you money in the long run.

First of welcome aboard,, and Congrats on your purchase,,, It truly was a good one!! Smart Man I own 2,,,,,
To be honest any Excalibur is a good choice, you should be prepared to become addicted though. One simply isn't enough, and so it goes on and on and on,,,,,, but don't fret, you're in good hands here, there are plenty willing to help you choose the next one,,,,,
Enjoy that 380,,, which one did you get,,,, oh and we like pictures!!!
