Excaliber that gummy stuff is probably the lube your using.

I don't think that's it, I have been using same wax, and never had an issue on any of my Excals. This one seems a bit rougher on the finish top of rail, and the shorter limbs must put more downward pressure on the deck too. I have cleaned off the deck, and put strings on without lube, same residue starts showing up. You guys have probably got a lot more shooting on your bows than I do too. Keith makes a fine string, so I don't think the issue is on the serving application. Just curious, does Anthony see the same thing on the Nightmare? I do believe the rail is smoother with the black finish.

I have the nightmare. Tony said he has the same darkening on the rail but his brace height line isn't sharp.

That might be the issue, try what Boo had suggested. If nothing else, some fine polishing cloth carefully worked on the crest of the groove edges might do it. Mine are not that sharp either, i have the camo model, so I would start there.

Dan both bows have the same rail finish so one would not be smoother then the other. Most likely just needs to knock ghe edge down. Mine is pretty sharp and my serving looks worse but i have a habbit of pulling the string into the rail as i cock it.

Stringmakers wax or wax from waxing your string.
I just wipe it off periodically.
I don't use rail lube, just string wax applied to the serving when I am done shooting for the day, then I wipe off any excess before the next shooting session.
I do wax the entire string once in a while, but not often.

This is not a new phenomenon (the brace height line wearing the serving). Crossbow manufactures should be marking the side of the rail with the brace height line instead of marking it on the top face of the rail. It doesn't have to be a cut line either........it could be a dot or some other marking on both sides of the rail.

I did notice that happening on the micro the short time I had it..figured it was caused be the micro being narrow and putting more pressure on the string as limb tips are closer to the rail..W D 40 -----cleans the black off the rail

WD40......Jigaloo.....lots of options along that line. Wipe to clean only and dry it off. Leave no residue other than what you cannot polish off so as to not get anything on your string. Cocking the bow when doing this will ensure you don't get anything on your string.

ls this an isolated situation.

An inherit issue with the Micro .

A lot of suggestions but I think this should be discussed with Excalbur before rubbing / sanding / polishing etc etc.
You damage it making it worse then I'd say you are on your own.

If its a issue with the Micro in general then I would think the DIY approach
does every present owner or future owner a disservice . Call customer service before you do anything that way everyone wins .
Then let us know what is Excalibur's suggests or knows about the situation.

My 380 blackout has no line and I get the same black stuff in the same spot as your micro. If it was me, I wouldn't worry . Add to that my serving look's very simular to your's.
