dear sirs
i m searching for a case for my vortex.
what i would like it has:
36,5 inches long (stock lenght)
10,5 inches width (stock plus scope widht )
soft case
in cordura
tacticool looking
as small as possible, to transport my vortex disassembled in 2 pieces ( bow and stock)
some pockets to equipaments and tools
foam padded
two main compartments ( stock and bow)
with shoulder sling ( not backpack type)
after some search, i have found this model on ebay ( lots of sellers, i m not afilliated, just picked one with better pics)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171418371547?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
ok, it got only one compartment, but i think i can work it out, putting a foam divider or something.
MY QUESTIONS
does anyone here use a case like this?
it can handle the vortex two pieces bulkness?
i mean, does it can handle the stock over bow, in a two pieces stack?
where i live its difficult to find something like this and after order it online, i will have to wait two months till delivery, so it will be very unpleasant find it does not fit.
any other comment will be very appreciated.
as always, thanks a lot.

soft case for excal vortex
Happy owner of a vortex dressed with:
-firebolts (still learning how to shoot with field points).
-shadowzone tac bracket ( just quiver and flashlight).
-blackhawk pivoting long bipod.
-rope cocking, S5 supressors and... a camo sling to carry it all.

Re: soft case for excal vortex
I suggest the 8 rod Cabela's Ice fishing rod holder case over the case you link from ebay.
The Cabeal's soft case is smaller in size, is black in color for the tactical look, has a shoulder sling, has a divided padded divider between two main compartments, one for your riser, limbs and stirrup front end and the other for your stock.
It also has 3 zipped outside compartments, one long one for your quiver assembly and two others for tools and other essential items.
I have two of these cases and I really like them:

hi, Normous.
your case really appears to be "the one", thank you a lot.
checking the specs, i found it:
"Available:
Eight-Rod Bag:
Dimensions: 35"L x 9"W x 8"H."
i just disassembled my excal vortex in two pieces and find that
the bow with attached stirup has
91 cm long ( 35,8 inches)
22 cm heigh ( 8,6 inches)
and the stock with attached scope has
84 cm long (33 inches)
25 cm height ( 9.8 inches)
so, the measures i collect on my vortex seems to be a little bigger than the 8 rod model.
since im afraid about it doesnt fit, i would like to ask you if the 8 rod model has some "give", in order to fit my vortex properly,
do you have a vortex or a slightly bigger or smaller xbow?
again, thanks for your valuable help.
cheers, atb.

Re: soft case for excal vortex
No problem supermurrao, I can fit a maximum of 36.5" length into the two main compartments, maybe 37" if I stretch (or give) a bit. The Cabela's 8 rod if perfect for your Vortex. I can fit almost 10" in height into the 2 main compartments.
Remove your 2 riser to mainframe bolts and your stock, mainframe and scope will fit in one pocket and your riser, stirrup and limb assembly will fit into the other main compartment. The outside walls are padded on this case.
I measured the 3 outside pockets for you:
-26.5" x 7"
-14.5" x 7"
-11" x 7"
Also, two sling straps are included, you can wear it like a back pack over both shoulders or use both straps together over one shoulder. These straps are quick disconnect so that only one carry strap can be used if desired. The straps are adjustable for length.

Re: soft case for excal vortex
Hi, guys
two problems:
1. A friend of mine (shoots a vortex too) is in search of a case like the one above (Cabela's 8 rod bag) , suggested by normous to my vortex.
But nowadays it seems a little bit difficult to find the exact model, with 8 ice rods capacity. (Searched Cabela's and basspro).
Would anyone suggest another similar case or something alike ? I think anything similar would do the trick.
2. I am now in search of some kind of light cover to carry my assembled vortex in the woods, so no brambles or woodsticks gets into the sling, rails etc. (Dense forest around here)
I initially thought in something like those one-sided compound bow covers ,(see attachment).
Does anybody heard about something like this for crossbows?
Does anyone could imagine and alternative to this ideA?
Cheers
