What's the most reliable Excal?

Post by paulaboutform »

I'm just curious to hear people's opinions. I've been told by a guru in Ohio what he thinks it is and I don't think many could argue with him. I think Excalibur's entire line is awesome and deadly accurate but recent threads got me thinking. As far as 'reliability' what gets your vote?

I'm curious to see the replies. I have a 405 that I'm completely happy with. It was involved in the initial recall. I was shooting it prior to sending it back and had no problems, and when it came back it had a better/smoother trigger, so I was very happy. :D It's got about 400(approx. haven't actually counted) shots down the rail and we're all good. I'm in the market for a 200LB max draw weight bow, due to NY regs......310 or Griz..... :?:

I have had a Phoenix for 9 years now and had zero problems with it. Also had the Ibex and same thing, no troubles.

IMO this is an unanswerable question except by Excalibur. To make any reliability predictions you need a large sample size and have tested things to the point of failure. Only Excal would have this type of data, and without it everything is just an opinion.

Vixen or Phoenix. At one time [pre-short bows] Exomax was the most popular in USA while the Canadians chose the Phoenix.

I own 2 x 380 and love them, never an issue so far. Until all the new models are out there for 4 or 5 years I'm not sure how anyone can vote for one of them. As Big John has said the Exomag has been tried and tested for many a years and I've heard of very few issues other than scope. The favourite of majority of my moose hunting group for sure. If I had to put money on it I'd vote Exomag for sure.

I bet you could talk to Woody's and Danny Miller. Ask which bows they repair the least and I'm guessing they'd answer the same. Of course, the light limbers probably don't sell nearly as many as the heavier bows. Hmmmm. :?:
