Arrow weight

Post by jody5252 »

Greetings. Which one is the heavier arrow? A 18" Easton-2219's or 18" FMJ's... I will be using 150gr. heads, with lumenoks, and 3" vanes... Is it ok to even use a FMJ with a Matrix 330?? Will FOC be different, even if they are the same arrow weight, since they are two different types of arrows?? If so, would it be better to use a brass (which weight) or aluminum insert in the FMJ's? Thanks for the info., J.

Brass 2219 inserts are almost non existant .ten point makes one but its loose in the shaft. .ive been grinding the shoulder off a2219 insert and putting a small home depot countersunk machine screw in. (In other words im epoxying an extxra insert in first then a normal on on the outside) this extra insert weighs 53 grains by itself. It works great with a125 spitfire plus the53 grain insert is 173 gr ..now for practice shoot a regular 2219 unweighted (no 53 gr insert) with a175 field point only 2 grains apart... its a pain but it works great them 2219s really fly great wen you start puttin some weight up front. The dropping factor is very minimal at 40 yards n under .dont forget to epoxy the machine screw in... ive also found 175gr slick tricks to fly great out of a regular unweighted 2219 bolt good luck hope this helps them 2219s with the weight blow thru even shoulders with my 330. Im sure fmjs r good expense seems unnessary to me for them

I would think them stingers would really group awsome with a little weight in there past 30 yards my bolt cutters were great but wen i added the 53 grain insert much improvement past 30 yards. Im in pa too i rarely shoot past 30 yards but its good to know you can
