Thoughts on equinox?

Post by xbowrook »

Well I am keeping an eye on a new excal for me as my axiom is going to my boy...if I don't get lucky and win one from Boofest I will purchase one....was thinking of a 355 or 380... Visited my bow shop and he has a gently used Equinox with rope cocking aid, 4 bolts, quiver, scope , cheek piece for $599... Don't know much about the Equinox, is this a good price? Wondering if I should jump on it? Any insight would be appreciated...

One of the best excals ever made. Bulletproof. I think you could do better on the price. Check Ebay and Amazon.

Just FYI this is 599 Canadian... Is eBay USD or Canada dollars? Just curious

Your advantage over ebay is hands on with your bow shop. Plus the added confidence of knowing where the sellers is.
With Ebay you also have to consider shipping costs.

As said the Equinox is one sweet piece of equipment .
With Flemish string 350 fps.

Compared to USA $$$$

Same bow would be $470 USA after conversion rate applied if that helps

But then again it is interesting that the retail list price of a New Excalibur's are listed the same in both USA / Canadian $$$, which at today's conversion rate suggest a 23% difference depending which side of the border you chose to purchase on.

I had a few, loved em all! If memory serves me, at the time a bare bow was 679.00

I think the price is a tad high, but honestly, most seem to be asking near that.

Could be a bit cheaper. With that said, if someone offered me $800 for mine I would pass. The bow has been awesome to own and has many happy memories attached to it. :D

thanks guys.. time will tell, I can't find any for less than this, even on ebay.. the one's I am seeing on there are still around this price.. I agree, I would rather spend even $100 more to buy this one, only because I can see it, hold it, and shoot it before buying.. I really really want a 380, but to be honest, with my budget right now, the equinox is a great upgrade.. heck, I figure I could buy the equinox then buy a matrix a year or 2 down the road.. nothing wrong with having 2 awesome excaliburs, right.. lol

I bought one in St. Thomas, Ontario for $450 with quiver 4 arrows, and scope back in May. Private sale through KiJiJI. Great bow.

My 1st Excal [06]was an Emax. Back then, it was hard on servings. I settled on an Exocet as my favorite xbow.....The servings changed after I'd sold the Emax, btw.

I had a 380, sold it to Normous, preferred my Y-25....
