I dont know what to say . . . jus read a Pm from Vixenmaster on some advise, narry a word, then stumble up on this. was over at Vixenmasters place and i/we talked about tree rat hunting . . .Vixenmaster had a Eastwood grin to his face when he talked about Awshucks and their adventures.

When i first came to the forum and was in the quest for arras he pm'd me out of nowhere wanting to give me a dozen BEE's! all i had to do is meet him half way. i never could get off work and in all and i'm poor to the fact that i could have met him in person, shared a cup of coffee/ tea, shook his hand and knew him better. Maybe get up w/ him and mike to kill some tree rats

For those that are hurting . . .there is nothing i can say to ease your hurt. YOU are richer than i to have known him, to have drank that cup of coffee w/ him. Dan is still w/ YOU . . .in the help he provided, the experience he shared, the material items he gave. Hold his memory close, keep on sharing, teaching and giving as Awshucks (Dan) would . . .and know this, its not the wealth . . .gold or silver that we remember, its the Awshucks that gave himself.

Oh my god!! What a shock! Sure didn't want to read this, one helluva birthday present for me. Shucks was a great friend Never met him in person but we talked via email and became great friends.
The crossbow world lost one of it's best. My condolences to his wife and family

My deepest condolences to you Mike and to his family. Dan was held in high regard wherever he went. One of the greatest compliments Ive ever had came from him...RIP 'shucks. the world lost a good one today.

What a shock! I always enjoyed Dan's way of simplifying things and his deep knowledge of flint shooting, something we had in common from our pasts. I suppose that there is some consolation in that he died doing what he loved, but he's going to be missed by a lot of people, both on the forum, and off of it.
