What type of sling do you use for your Matrix?

Post by SLP82 »

I am wanting to get a sling for my Matrix Grizzly and rather than doing a hour worth of reading and research, I was wondering if you all could make some recommendations to me and why you chose that particular sling. Thanks!

Is it comfortable? Did you just do a braid of some sort? Got a picture by chance?

I just use one of my extra rifle slings. Works great. I always take it and my top mount quiver off after I reach my stand.

Yes it is a combination of three different braids, a cobra weave, king cobra, and Parallel cross knot weave. As for pictures i've been a member here for over a year, and can't figure out how that's done. Tried a few times and gave up.. Whipped this old farts butt.. SMILE. But i think it's purtty.... And X-2 on what Upsman said...

No sling. It's in my hands as I sneak in and out. If need be I strap it to my pack. Had slings on my old Hortons but rarely used them. Found they got in the way or could make noise when positioning for the shot.

I use the excal sling and love it. Very comfortable and easy on and off.

x2 = I have a nice rifle sling but took it off as it was more of a bother than anything.

The Claw with quick disconnect "non metal" with small rubber O-ring on pin. Takes the play out, quiet all around.

I use a rifle sling. I remove it when I get to my plot. Carry my quiver on my pack.

Same here, I use one of my rifle slings and take it off in my stand. Nothing better than a sling to steady a shot for offhand shots if you see a deer walking to your stand. Though, If your quiver is mounted under your bow you will hate using a sling because the arrow vanes end up rubbing on you as you walk, that's the #1reason I got a top mounted quiver.
