tasco scopes

Post by buckmark »

Anyone have any experience with these Tasco Golden Antler scopes that I see available for crossbows now. Pros and cons. Thanks in advance for the info.

I had a look at one not to long ago. Loks like a solid product. the optics seemed similar to exalibur scopes. You have to love the price!!!

Didn't I read somewhere that Tasco had went under bankruptcy?

If so, did someone buy them out?

I've got a Tasco World Class on my shotgun. It has done a great job for at least ten years..

That's correct, Bushnell bought them out.

I looked up this scope on the web. It says the paralax is 100 yards. Doesn't seem like they did much to customize this for x-bow use.

At least it's a 2.5x not a 4x scope. I never could figure out why you need that much magnification at 25 yards. I have a Tasco 1.5-4.5x32 shotgun scope on my Horton and I leave it set at 1.5x.

I have a 4 of this same Tasco scope. I liked then at first but don't now. They're not as bright as good scope like a Leupold and on at least on of them the point of aim shifts an inch or two at 50 yards when you change the magnification.

bstout,

I think you are confusing parallax with focus.

Parallax is when the crosshair appears to move on the target when you move your eye around slightly. Focus is the sharpness of the crosshair on the target.

Does your Simmons scope have adjustable parallax or are you turning the focus eyepiece?

Excalibur scopes (all scopes??) have adjustable focus eyepieces.

I looked it up and your focus condition could also be attributed to parallax.

"Parallax
A condition that occurs when the image of the target is not focused precisely on the reticle plane. Parallax is visible as an apparent movement between the reticle and the target when the shooter moves their head or, in extreme cases, as an out-of-focus image. "
