More String Questions

Has anyone ever had a string break when they were cocking or firing their crossbow ? Regarding the standard Excalibur strings : how many shots can you get out of one before it should be replaced ? What are the signs that indicate the string should be replaced ? I shoot the 380.

It's more likely to happen if it's a Dacron string but yes it's possible and there's some warning signs prior to the break normally. That warning would be sudden and repetitive brace height changes.
