Great looking bow. It sure does not appear to be a rattle can spray paint job to me. Looks like I would expect a flat black bow from Excalibur to look like.
Agreed! But there is a world of difference between the paintjob done there, and what i saw from the other guy who got the black painted bow. Is this bought from PM as well?
Yes.

That is a very nice looking bow and I would be happy with it.
Why don't they use a picture of that bow instead? That seems to be what most of the posts I have read have been about, the deceptive picture. I think if the bow you have was used for the picture there would be no posts about this, and most would be very happy with their purchase.

The owner of PM posted over on AT this response..

"I am the owner of Pine Mountain Archery. I typically would never respond to a thread on archery talk as it seems it's always a losing battle however I feel the need to explain our mistake since a customer brought this thread to our attention. We accidentally used the wrong stock photo in our listing. The picture is of a Flat Black 380 bow however it shows a gray/silver barrel on the bow instead of the Flat Black barrel that is on the bow we are actually selling. Everything else in our listing is correct. We have stopped selling these bows until we have the correct stock photo to use in our ad. We are an honest company and simply made a mistake and used the wrong photo."

Well at least the issue of the wrong image in the add will be changed and the unaware buyer will at least have a pre visual of what they are bidding on. This is a positive step and am willing to give PM credit for finally correcting the image..

Well, that settles the matter for me! Im the fresh winner of todays eBay auction for the black 405 package from PM:-)
The winning bid was at $710!
My budget was set at $1000 to begin with for bow and accessories all together. With this price i have no problem getting under that even with extra strings, arrows, broadheads, etc.
Everything is set for my long overdue trip to the US for some serious hoghunting in Texas come april. Cant wait :D
Im going to stay with family in Centerville, Utah in april. Anyone have some advice or tip for me regarding recommended hunting places with crossbow?
My original plan was to rent a car, take a roadtrip to texas, and buy a 3-4 day hunt at one of the ranches up north.
If anyone think this sound like a good or bad idea, feel free to comment.

Congrats on your new bow at a fantastic price. How about posting a picture of it here when you receive it.

Well, as far as i can see on ebay, they still sell these bows with the old photo. But maybe things take some time. However, i think the flat black one looks smashing nevertheless, and its growing on me :D

I think he means thats a picture of the bow he purchased off ebay. $710 for a 405 is a steal. That's what I paid for my 380 but I made the mistake of buying before season.
