Those stocks you make are absolutely superb Mark. They should be in a museum. Beautiful work.
Get out & Enjoy.

Sorry, didnt login again.

Skeeter the first stock i did took me over 23 hrs, but ive learned a thing or two about how to get them done faster and repeatability is very good.
It now takes me about an 4 or 5 hrs start to finish, provided the wife doesnt make me do to many honey do type things

Ive done a few for our bro`s on the other side of the pond too!! Here is Phil Smiths point blank target bow, has to be one of the nicest point blanks around anywhere!! 8)

Great looking stocks Mark, that tiger stiped one is TOO pretty to use. How did you find a piece of wood like it ?

What types of wood have you used other than the laminate blanks?

Thanks Farmer Paul,

Looks are only skin deep, i like the stock for its natural camo, almost looks like a leapard type pattern.

I have used the laminate of course, walnut (RJ`s stock) and the quilted maple.

As far as where do you find wood like the maple.....guitar builders are a good source for the striped maple. Some times it just takes alot of surfing, and the problem isnt finding the wood. Its finding the right thickness and the right price and the right moisture content. Green wood is easy to find and cheaper, but if you try to work it before its time, it will check making it useless.
