Did this deer survive a rage?

Post by Riflemanz »

Looks like this deer survived a rage to the cage? Sure looks like it did!
I guess i'll have to put a hammerhead thru her! I have my AM and PM off by 12hrs.

How are you certain that mark was caused by a broadhead (Rage)??

Maybe, but this one didn't survive an FOC.

Actually, this is one of my patient's kills, about 3 miles from my house. M380, Zombies, FOCs, Zeiss Terra2-7/optimizer. 45 yards. My guess: think he hit in the shoulder and the BH glanced off. He never found the arrow. I've killed appx 12-13 deer with FOCs, no losses but never a gash like that!
That's his only hit/kill with an FOC. He plans on using FOCs this year also. :D

Looks like there is a scar lower down as well. My uneducated guess is that it is not a broadhead wound

It was ultimately that pic that SEW posted a few months back that swayed me to try the foc. I look forward to trying them out.
