I can honestly say I have already been on my dream hunts .
Hunt 1 was Saskatchewan whitetail hunt with Dad .
Hunt 2 was a duck hunt where my Dad was the mentor hunter for his grandson .

Re: What is your dream hunt?
My dream hunt would be to Alaska for Grizzly, Black Bear, Moose and Caribou and I'd want to be there for at least a month..

My dream hunt is to chase game on my own property.
Re: What is your dream hunt?
Any hunt, and the next one will be a dream hunt. What ever it is.
Previously a representative example of an Impala was way up there on the list.
Not going to happen, so something local will suffice.
Them big bears in Alaska, oh nooo. Not me.
I enjoy Chuck Adams biggie bear hunt's retelling and at one time might have been crazy enough, but I can't run anymore. Not that running would help...
Aww, won't let me post a pic of Chuck and his bruin...
12 yard shot with an arrow and about 1400 pounds weight.
Sheesh! Them bears can even a score with an attacker, and more.

Re: What is your dream hunt?
Mine is a combo hunt. Moose and Brown bear. But money gets in my way right now.
Some day I will do it. But my biggest hurdle would be weapon. I am not only a passionate crossbow hunter but am a passionate pistol hunter to. Hmm. My 405 matrix or my scorpyd or my 445 supermag 41 GNR#2 or 41GNR.

And another fellow handgun hunter. And love your fine 5 shooter. That must of been a heck of a wait for it to finish.Trigger1212 wrote:This is a bow forum BUT you did ask! My TWO dream hunts would to be to take and elk and a bear (any bear, but a Grizz would be nice!) with my Custom 5 shot Ruger Bisley in 45 colt. Pistol worked over by Hamilton Bowen, new 5 shot cylinder, reworked the lock work, new 5 1/2" bbl and custom stocks by Roy Fishpaw, one set from Ram's horn and the other burl walnut. Silver Elk head on one side and silver bear on the other. Mounted an aimpoint H-1 on it, shoots a 342 gas checked LBT slug at around 1,375 fps with 27.something grains of H110. On a good day at the bench if I do my part it will put 5 shots in 2" or less. Bagging an Elk and Bear would be very cool with this pistol!

Re: What is your dream hunt?
I think my dream hunt would be for Kodiak bear on Kodiak Island, AK with the bow. Now I know how that sounds but I love archery hunting. Besides, if one did charge, it sure as heck wouldn't be able to catch me. It'd be slipping in the stuff running down the back of my legs.

Smile...BigONE1...I can relate to that.. But there is not a man alive or dead, that can out run a big Brown or Kodiak. They have been known to reach 40 mile's an hour..Now if you were Airborne as in 82nd.. You might have a shot...SMILE.....Just foolin..

Re: What is your dream hunt?
Bubba, I wasn't in the 82nd or Airborne but I was in the infantry. No, I don't believe I could outrun a brown bear, but when he's slipping in the poop running down my legs at least I'd get a good head start.

Just 1 moose, cow or bull.
Go first season draw in Colorado for the guys/gals wanting elk. I did it 7 times and got 7 elk.

Re: What is your dream hunt?
Wow, congratulations on your success. It's hard to pick just one dream hunt when you want to hunt elk, moose, bear, ect... But it's great to hear of such successes.Shotnbeer wrote:Just 1 moose, cow or bull.

Canadian Whitetail hunt with my Excalibur would be #1 on my list. Then maybe an Elk hunt somewhere out west.

Re: What is your dream hunt?
Since your talking dream hunts, mine would be an African safari with a leopard as the main target species, along with a zebra. I would like to do it with my crossbow as well. After that I think an alligator would be a cool hunt, with my crossbow of course.
