When I was a kid I went hunting for Jaguar in the Amazon Jungle with my dad and brother. My parents were missionaries/aid workers. We had an old 28 gauge with buck shot and we were on foot (at night)! We ended up shooting a fairly large one and it ran into the jungle wounded. We then walked about 2 miles back to our home in the pitch black Amazon jungle. If I could go back and hunt that same hunt with my dad and brother, I would. This time maybe a pump 12 gauge! We also hunted Tapir, Capybarra, monkeys, wild boar, snakes, wild turkey, and other stuff. But that one fateful, fruitless jaguar hunt sticks in my mind.

My dream hunt would be to shave 35 years of my life from me and keep the experiences and go do a Mule Deer spot and stalk out West. Any state will do. Dang if playing hide and seek with a set of horns just above the sage is just about as good as it gets. OK, keep dreaming. :D ( bow in hand of course)

Tom wrote:My dream hunt is to take a moose with my "orginal Relayer". I have tried a few times, and should have been successful once, butit did not work out.

Secondary dreams would be wild boar (wild, not from a farm) and elk.

Tom, Them Boars don't get any more wilder than the ones I have. Just start pedaling that bike South.

I'm thinking a GIANT Grizzly, with my buddy Boo at my side.

Truth be told, I'm hoping for my turkey "grand slam" before I die. If FlightAttendant (Paul) would have been a better guide,   I'd only have my Merriams left.

LOL, if your thinking of that old addage "you only have to out run the slowest runner"...... well I think that it might be very dificult for you to run with Boo clinging to" your MAGICAL ROBE".

As for "your hogs" if I were to start peddling now, I might be able to get there before winter sets in  , if it did not kill me first.

FA = Freedom Arms.
I'm not afraid of those stinkers, they just creep me out.
I've only whacked a couple of Mulies and an Antelope with my FA 454 and 44. They all went down like they were pole axed so I think it would be effective on one of those 1,500 lb vegetarians.

Well... Let's see...

Thus far:

Elk - Check (and again this season)
Moose - Check
Black Bear - Check
Caribou - Check
Muskox - Check
Grizzly - Check
Mule Deer (Check and again this season)
Blacktail - Check (and again this season)
Whitetail - Check (and again this season)
Big Horn Sheep - Check
Dall Sheep - Check
Stone Sheep - Check
Antelope - Check
Africa Plains Game - Check
Wolf - Check
Wolverine - Check
Coyote - Check
Fox - Check

Not all with a bow, but hunted successfully nonetheless...

Left on the list... Likely the highest priority for me would be to complete the Sheep Slam and collect a Desert Ram some day. That, or perhaps an Argali in an Eastern Russia State.

Africa is also appealing with the thought of a Big Sable in mind...

Never hunted hogs - but strongly suspect I eventually will...

No interest in any of the cats or so-called Big 5.

So... is asking for a Desert Ram Tag too much???

Cheers,
Nog

Mike, if you figure out how to shave that 35 off let me know. I would be happy and proud to go with you then. :D :D
