any fans of magnus broadheads?

Post by Pasidewinder »

Hey guys, I'm lookin for some opinions on Magnus broadheads for my axiom. I currently shoot slick trick mags and am happy with them but I have always wanted to try the Magnus offerings.

I know they have a great replacement warranty but that is not the main reason I'm looking for as I have never complained about damaging or looseing a head while hi ting it seems like a fair trade to me. I shot vertical bows for years but with expandables, the slick tricks are the first fixed head I've used in years.

I figure with the axiom not being the "power house" some of you are shooting that a fixed head would serve me better as far as penetration and reliability. I'm just wondering how the magnuses shot for y'all. Not so much for blood trails because I've been in the game long enough to know that no two shots are the same when it comes to hunting, two similar shots may bleed totally different.

Been shooting 125 Buzzcuts outta my Equinox for a few years, shot them outta my Axiom before that. Fly dead on out to 50 for myself. All died insight and usually a pass-thru. One stuck in a stump one year and I bent it getting it out. They replaced no questions asked.

I've heard from Boo and some others how incredibly well the buzzcuts fly. Penetration is apparently fantastic as well. I would love to try them one day. Your slick tricks are a fantastic head that I used for years and can't say a single bad thing about them. Recently I briefly tested the QAD Exodus and it seems ridiculously accurate and penetration is amazing!

I have used the 3 blade snuffers in my Y25 , they fly great and penetration on any game is wild . I used it on 1 bear and 4 deer before killing the broadhead on a rock . Best features are they are reusable , accurate , tough like a bag of hammer and they were gaurenteed for life !

I shoot 2 blade stingers at bison and hogs. They fly great out to 40 for me (1.5" group across 6 arrows) and the warranty can't be beat.

I can't agree more from the above statements. Anything but a lost broad head is replaced for free that is enough said on warranty. I took my first deer with my traditional vertical recurve with the 2 blade Magnus buzzcut 125. And my 7yr old daughter killed her first turkey with the smaller cut magnus bullhead. If I were to shoot a fixed blade out of my 330 no question it would be the 2 blade magnus buzzcut. I am a proud dad when my daughter took her first turkey. I had to post the pic. http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2 ... ad#p556392

Buzzcuts,,,been shooting them for years out of my vertical bows as well as x-bows,,,,,,,,,,you can't go wrong,,,they fly great,,fantastic warranty,,and deadly on impact,,,I believe the serrated edge causes more damage to the flesh,,but that's a whole other issue,,,I know from experience that that is a fact  ,,and this year will be trying out their new Black Hornet out of my CUB-POW,,,Cub x-bow,,,so far they fly great,,,they have a steeper angle than the Buzzcut,,,that can only result in bigger holes.
