Ive been using a cabellas laser strike 2 crossbow 125. Its a spitfire knock off with o ring design. ( normally use spitfires but there too pricey for geese) the lasers hit with a definate "thunk" no dought wen u connect. The two i got really only made it a few feet with a chest hit. I dont have a dog so a baitcaster with a 3 hook zara spook is my retriever. I try to shoot close to shore obviously. The one had me on a seventy yard ground stalk crawling etc. Its as exiting as it gets lol.wen you got 2 teenage daughters at home you get creative in extending your hunting seasons. ..lol just kiddin

The Migratory Bird Act is international between Canada, U.S. and Mexico. I was told by an Ontario CO Supervisor several years ago that hunting migratory birds with a crossbow was illegal. Is that only in Ontario? Checking the Canadian regulations it appears crossbows are still illegal.

That's what I thought here in NYS; waterfowl could only be taken with a shotgun.

I don't have a shotgun. Ok...I do have one, a Winchester M59 with a fiberglass barrel but I can't use it with steel shot. There are a lot of geese in my area and the hunting is done more often on land than on water. Information on using a crossbow for geese is rare and I sure could use a lot of information.
