Stupid weak targets!

Post by frontsite »

What target can I buy that will consistently stop Excalibur 405 bolts before the vains hit and go in the target and get mangled up? I took my 405 out and lined it in for the first time this weekend and damaged several expensive arrows because the vanes are now all torn and/or mangled. I have a buck commander crossbow target and the arrow stops with about an inch of fletching sticking out.
Drop a product name and type or a link would be even better.
Thanks

I'm quite happy with these two for broadheads

What you have to do is make 30 yards your shortest distance and lube the front inch or two of your arrows. Those two things will make life a tad easier. A Danny Miller arrow puller would be nice too.

shooting 20 with that beast is gonna be tough on targets! a fresh rhinehart should stop it

When I first aquired my 380 I had a semi worn 18-1 and it blew right through the thing like she was made of swiss cheese. Thought I missed  now fresh targets are for broadheads and semi worns are for field tips

Firstly, welcome to the forum and congrats on your new 405. Secondly, it'll make it easier to help you if you finish filling out your profile so we know where you're at. As mentioned, whichever target you buy a must have is the Danny Miller plier pullers. Once you use them you'll wish you had them from the start. For targets there are a few that come to mind immediately. Third Hand Archery Rag Bag for field points, Spderweb Crossbow target for field points, Rhinoblock or 18 in 1 by Rinehart, the Blob. Good luck, any of these will work.

Okay okay, took care of the profile. So should be squared away on that. I have the Excalibur puller for the arrows they make. It works okay but sometimes you end up pilling the backs out of the arrow if your not careful.
