Trigger creep.
My Matrix 330 has a very good trigger, not much travel and very crisp release.
My 310 is not so good though. It is more like a 2 stage trigger but with a lot of travel. Probably 2 if not 3 times the travel as my 330, then hits the wall and I know it is ready to release.
Is there anything that can be done to shorten up the travel?
Thanks
Ron.

Re: Trigger creep.
I have the same issue on my Grizzly. 2 letoff's before finally hitting the wall for release. Other than buying a TT trigger I'll be following this for an answer.

Forum member Boo has been doing trigger jobs on Excalibur crossbows for years. I have never heard one complaint, only satisfied customers. Contact him by PM or email. You will be amazed what he can do for the factory trigger.

Re: Trigger creep.
I have shot Boo's triggers are they are great. For what he charges, it's a steal. But if you have a legitimate beef with your trigger, I suggest you send it back to Excalibur and ask for one that has been worked on. Tell them how you want it and they'll likely do the exact same thing Boo does, but under warranty, and at no cost.
Now if you want an excellent trigger, IMO, the TiggerTechs are the only way to go.

Re: Trigger creep.
That was Boo's recommendation as well.
Thanks.

Re: Trigger creep.
When I first got my Vortex it had so much creep it about drove me crazy. Then I started pre-setting the trigger by pulling it on safety and then the slack was gone when I went to shoot it. (I understand this can be dangerous).
One day I forgot to pull the trigger on safe and the creep was gone. That was a couple of years back and it is still gone. My trigger feels like a single stage Trigger Tech now except it breaks around 3 1/2 lbs.
Look Ma...no creep...

So Rob, what you're saying is that you would simply put it on safe to take the creep out of it and by doing so the creep eventually went away on it's own completely?robertyb wrote:When I first got my Vortex it had so much creep it about drove me crazy. Re: Trigger creep.
I am thinking the creep went away due to being used a lot
I know they sometimes get better with use.

Very true, my vortex had alot of creep when I bought it, it took some time, but now it's great!!! My 355 is getting better too.BrotherRon wrote:I am thinking the creep went away due to being used a lot

Re: Trigger creep.
Basically yes but I expect Ron is probably right about lots of use making it smoother also. I do think that taking the slack out by pulling the trigger against the safety sped up the process though. It sure does remove the creep when shooting if you have a lot of creep.TheBig1 wrote:So Rob, what you're saying is that you would simply put it on safe to take the creep out of it and by doing so the creep eventually went away on it's own completely?robertyb wrote:When I first got my Vortex it had so much creep it about drove me crazy. This is not a safe practice and is NOT recommended! If Boo is making a suggestion, I'd listen. He knows what he's talking about and won't steer you wrong.robertyb wrote:Basically yes but I expect Ron is probably right about lots of use making it smoother also. Re: Trigger creep.
I've worked on triggers in rifles and handguns is there any difference with the Excalibur crossbow trigger. My Grizzly is also like a two stage trigger I would like to work on it after the season.
Re: Trigger creep.
Look up the post by shade tree factory trigger mod, he and I have figured it out..be safe. All we are doing is what you would have to do every trigger pull anyway. Taking up some slack. This mod is not for the timid or mechanic declined. Some don't know which end of the screw driver works. Be safe and have fun. Mtn Jack

Re: Trigger creep.
I had bad creep when I bought my matrix 330. Replaced it with a trigger tech trigger. Love it.

Re: Trigger creep.
I've noticed that my Grizzly also has HORRIBLE creep. There's a screw in front of the Grizzly trigger, what does this screw do? Does it adjust trigger pull? Does it affect creep in anyway?
