2015 slick trick xbow heads

Post by deertrx »

My question is have any of you shot the 2015 slick trick xbow BH's in the 100 grain version? I have the 150 grns currently they fly great out of my 380. Also I have a Grizzly the 150's seem a little chunky for the Griizz. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks guys n gals! :)

I haven't shot the crossbow versions but all the Slick Tricks I've shot have been out of my Excals and they shoot great. I'm currently shooting a Grizztrick 125 gr. and I'm shooting 1 inch groups at 40 yards they're definitely strong enough to do what you need done with a crossbow without having to go to a 150 gr. broadhead.

Had a customer support representative at slick trick tell me that there is absolutely no difference in the 100 grain "crossbow" and "magnum" heads. Only that they offer a 150 grain under the "crossbow" name.
They had distributors that were requesting that they package some of the 100 grain magnums with "crossbow" so that they would market better to crossbow owners.
Same is true for Ramcats. No difference in their "crossbow" vs. regular heads other than the packaging.

I shot the 175 last year and was very happy with them , but wanted a larger hole so I tried the grizzly 125 . they were just as accurate as the 175 were. so I think I will stick with the 125 grizz. for the extra wide hole. also this year the offer on the package is 4 instead of 3 for the same price. good deal I think. so shoot what flys the best with your set up and your good to go . I have heard that disc. them . call them and they might have some of them left . it is worth a try. unless you are shooting rinos the 150 will work just as good.

Thanks, but no rhinos for me, just wanted a fixed head at the same weight as my mechanical heads so I don't have to swap inserts. I won't use my mechs in a ground blind, hence my need for a fixed in the same weight class. I'm calling them tomorrow.

The ferrules on the Xbow and Mag are different according to the pics on their site,

I just killed a 4x4 bull Elk with the 125 gn 4 blades they worked great out of my 355 ... hit a rib taking out a chunk of bone but pretty sure you could still have shaved hair with at least 3 of the blades after the shot.
