Question about Micro

Post by Possum »

I find myself seriously considering adding a Micro to my hunting arsenal. I was a little concerned at first with the occasional limb problems so I bought the Matrix 330. Now that I have the 330 I feel better setting my sights on the Micro as I know that should a limb give way that the warranty is solid and I will still have the 330 should I need warranty service on the micro during a hunting season. Now I just need to find a person with a 31" draw to sell my Mathews to.
Now I have a few questions.
I want to use the same 18" arrows that I use with my 330. Will they work WELL?
I am 6' 3" and have arms like an ape. Will micro be too small for me?
I've had to give up shooting my vertical bows due to wore out shoulders but I can rope cock my 330 easily at least 20 times before I start to feel it. Will the 270 lbs be much different given the shorter power stroke on the mico?

I would like to try one around here but the shops around here are not crossbow friendly even thought two of them sell excaliburs. They never seem to have a micro in stock and everybody in the place looks at me like I have two heads when I ask about taking a look at a micro. I would like to give the local shops business bu given thier attitudes I will be buying online.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Hey Possum... Well I'm at the other end of height chart at a "majestic" 5'4"... I own the micro, have blown shoulders and hand cock it...I do find it a slight chore but am able to do it!

.... As far as being 6'3"... I believe Big John is about your height, shoots the micro and loves it... Maybe he and others will chirp in!

The arrows will be fine, but will stick out past the end of the stirrup. Accuracy will be awesome, I shot 20" Zombies from mine for kix!

Possum. I am 6' 3" and have long arms as well. The micro fits me just fine and is not difficult to cock even with the higher draw weight. You can shoot the 18" bolts if you like, I have shot the 20" and the 18" bolts and they both are accurate.

I'm 6'1" and have long arms as well as being lanky AKA skinny and my usual shooting session is a few dozen shots with no problem.

Also, i shoot 15 1/2" arrows out of mine

I have an m330 and a micro i shoot the same 16.5 arrows out of both bows. Love my 330 but it feelz like a tank compared to the micro good to have choices and a backup the micro seems about 10 percent harder to cock than the 330 imo. Im only 5.9
