Compound Complications.
I recently bought a Barnett raptor fx from gander mountain as my first crossbow. Unfortunately I cut the string with a broad head a week later. So I took it back to get a new string and they said it would be a week or two until it would return. Its been 3 weeks.
Still no bow. From my experience with them, the firearms and bow management representatives had little idea of what service to provide and asked each other multiple questions even I could answer myself. I wouldn't have this problem with an Excalibur, I could just buy a string for 30 bucks online or heck I could even make my own string if I wanted to. From this experience im going to buy an Excalibur crossbow this xmas for myself as a main bow and putting the compound as a back up. Just so much more reliable than a compound. Period. Barnett has great cs, but gander mountain does not. I will never return there ever again.

I feel for you , that's one of the reasons I went with EXCL. they have the best bow and customer service in the industry. JMO.

Re: Compound Complications.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Get the Excalibur for Xmas then sell the Barnett and use that money to get yourself a nicely loved Excalibur as a backup.

Thanks for the support. :p I should have gone with an Excalibur. I wont make the same mistake again.
Re: Compound Complications.
A Barnett crossbow?? Say what?? I recall you were gonna get a M-380? and then a M-355, and a M- 335, But decided on a M-330, And then you said you had a Grizzly in the mail? That was a few months ago..You ended up with a Barnett after all the advice from multiple threads ? Smile.....Ok.....Life is like a box of chocolates..........

Well I can't say anything bad about the compound bows as I love my scorpyd and I love my excalibur. Both are top shelf in their areas IMO.
I love hunting with both bows so it's always special to head to the field with either one.
But yes great idea get that Excalibur for a Christmas present and now you have a truly low maintenance easy to work on bow. Good luck
