Now I Understand . . .

Now I Understand . . .
The brown truck stopped by the house today, while I was out in back checking my hives. My wife had signed for a package that I ordered last Friday in a moment of weakness.
The box was marked "Excalibur" and the end sticker denoted "Micro 335, Realtree". After dinner, with as much self control as I could muster, I made my way out the shop to open the box. I put eveything together (minus the scope (Nikon Bolt) and Munch mount, all still enroute), put the cheekpiece on the proper side for a southpaw, and threw it up to my shoulder. "Right handy" I thought. Next I cocked it to see what all the fuss was about. A little more umph required than my E-Mag, but no problem. Next I de-cocked it with the cocking rope ('d never seen/handled the ADF gadget before). No problem. I'm not sure I even need the rope to de-cock it in retrospect. I'll have to try that.
Now I understand the "love fest" over the Micro! xcalibur Dan is making me a couple of strings, and a dozen "arras", and with luck eveything will come together next week so I can start shooting it in preparation for the season.
And I thought my trusty E-Mag was the only crossbow I'd ever need or own!

Welcome to the Micro World... They are great little shooters for sure...

I'm not sure I understand the quote above... Just a heads up, the Micro limbs are 270# limbs.. and no light weight.. Yes the power stroke is short but it is abrupt

Re: Now I Understand . . .
Once you do it a few times, it's second nature. If you shot with fingers in the old days, then got a release aide, you know what I mean! It is a bit cumbersome at first, like a monkey picking up a football, but it gets easier!

If you do ever try decocking without a rope could you take a video for us to see, it sounds pretty interesting. I don't think I'll try it with my micro though.

HAHA we aaaAAAALLLL know that feeling..After dinner, with as much self control as I could muster, I made my way out the shop to open the box.
I had no self control.. I don't think the brown truck was off the block before I had whipped out the pocket knife and was placing all the parts on the coffee table, much to my wife's "HEY!" as I shoved stuff in her general direction to make room...
