Brace height

Post by Turkey slayer »

Hi name is Chris an I'm new to crossbows an crossbow hunting. i just got my second crossbow the matrix cub an checked the brace height an it's measuring 1 3/4 my question is that too high or should I take it to the pro shop to have it adjusted or will it settle in over time? My axiom is right at 5/16 an has been there for months of shooting . I'm in the process of purchasing a stringer, waiting for it to arrive. Any info would be much appreciated , Thank You

The Cub I read about 7/8" the ole Mag Tip Model, 1-1/8" is where I set my Vortex, and Ibex.

So does these changes in brace height, change the arrow impact that much at 30 to 35 yards ? Say 15/16 an then twist to 1 1/8 ?

I did a study a few years back with about 1/4" variation and found less than 3 FPS variation, and 3/8" variation at 40 yards. This was done with a Vortex, and Matrix 355. I recommend you shoot at the lowest, and highest from a bench to see for yourself. The reason I did it was to calm down my OCD about leaving the bow cocked on stand for all day hunts.

Buy a stringing aid and adjust the string yourself instead of going to a shop. It's very easy!

X2,,, I did the same thing, I run 3/4" to 1" on both my Matrix 380's and there isn't enough to matter hunting out to 50 yards in that range,,, and where my bows seem to shoot best.

The micro I keep withing 1/8" above the BH mark on the rail and just touching it,,,, same thing!!!! set it,,,,forget it,,,, and hunt!
