Stirrup wraps??

Post by Rather-B-Huntin »

Looking for recommendations for effective stirrup wraps. I wrapped the stirrup of my Micro in paracord, and it made a significant difference. What else have you used to take some twang out of your stirrups?

I don't have that option as the Dr. Stirrup doesn't fit my Grizzly nor does it fit the Micro right now due to them both having had a change in the bolt pattern.

So I too am interested in this thread. I do like the thought of the 550 cord. Rather, could you please share a picture of your creation so that I may see how you did it and how you tied the ends off?

I use tennis racket tape on mine as others have.
a.roll for one racket will do one stirrup.

I have some black athletic tape but I really like the idea of using 550 cord.

I used this and really liked it's properties for both quieting the bow and the vibration reduction. And... it's camo...

I brought mine to a shop that does spray on bed liners and had it sprayed with black rhinolining. If you tell them you're not in a hurry and if they can spray it when they're doing a truck box the cost will be minimal to nothing. My first one was $10.00 and I got another sprayed for a second bow a couple years later and wasn't charged. The first one I've used for thousands of shots shows no wear.

That's a pretty cool idea!!!! They actually have small cans of the stuff that you can buy and do it yourself.

I've got two bows like this. I used 3 strips on stirrup, one centered one on each side. Then I used the forth on the arrow retention spring. takes two sets but works well and has been durable.

I wrapped mine with paracoard and didn't make a big difference. Then I tried wrapping it all with camo form fabric wrap and it actually made a big difference. 3 pros: -it's elastic which is why it deadens sound.
- comes in any camo pattern you want.
- it's non adhesive so no mess but sticks to itself like glue
