I killed a 1½ year old doe Saturday morning.
It was a great morning for hunting here in southern Ohio. Cool and damp (more of a mist than rain).

No Kills but they were their. I was going to hunt tonight, but with little wind and 3rd day of season in this heat I decided to not risk contaminating a setup in these conditions this early. I will be cutting out shortly for northern Michigan and a week of ruffen it on a world class stream, fishing for trout and Salmon,,, so to much work to butcher one this early anyways! Image

I should have my head right after a week on the wild with no electricity or heat, in some of the most beautiful surroundings in North America!!! Then lookout, time to kill something!!!Image

Too warm for me still. Its suppose to get cooler within the next week or two, my son went out Saturday saw and jumped 9 does no shots. On Sunday he saw 3 does and shot at a nice 10 he under shot it and missed with his compound. I told him if the Excalibur was there it does not miss he said after missing that one he wished he would have had the 405. My buddy went out up to his farm in Knox and saw 8 on Saturday with two of them being nice bucks lot of velvet on them still. Its not too much longer a couple of more weeks and they should be running pretty good.

No rule says you need to be in a tree.
Mind the wind ,find where the deer are comin from and goin to and catch them in between by blending with your background.
If that don't work get closer to the end that allows you daylight to shoot.
If hunting pressure is too much, do like the deer and go where people don't.
Enjoy your time out there, be safe and good huntin to ya!
