Last night I camped out in the blind, woke up at 6:50 and watched the sun rise, smelled the crisp fall air, watched the birds sing, the squirrels prepare for winter, and God's creation wake up. Unfortunately there were no deer wanting to die, so I just walked back to the car hungry!

....and that's why we pray before each hunt and after each hunt....with or without a harvest the Good Lord has Blessed us with His Creation and Splendor and begs us to, "be still and know that I am God!"

Hunting to me is more than the kill,its being thankfull to God for all the blessings He gives us ! Enjoying the outdoors and all His creation! When success happens its the icing on the cake! Ron!

X2 on all the above. I love a morning in nature. Refocuses us, you know? Getting a nice deer is good too. Something about sitting in a blind surfing the forum is fun too!
As far as camping in the blind, it's in a swamp that my gramps owns, we built a raised platform aND put a tent on it . The deer have bedded down all around it so I didn't want to spook any getting in that morning. Plus who are we kidding? I love camping and sleeping outside!

Congrats on time well spent. More times than not the hunt ends this way when you are hunting deer. Thanks be to God for preparing a place for us to enjoy our passion, and the freedom to do it.

Some of my most memorable hunt's never involved the taking of an animal. Sounds like a great hunt to me.
