matrix 355 string replacement

Im having a problem finding any dealers where i live that have any matrix crossbow string replacements. i live in north alabama

There are a number of excellent string makers on the forum here, Boo, Xcaliber, and Danny Miller to name a several. There are others as well. I'm sure more people will chime in.

I have one to give away as well but will wait for the next newbie looking for one. Thinning out the herd a bit the past few days but still have one left that has only seen a few shots.

I thought i would be fine for a couple weeks untill i carried my matrix to the bow shop and he said i ran out of twist in my string and the string was putting pressure on my REDS. He said I would be fine that all excaliburs he has seen do not have clearance between string and bumpers. after reading some threads i see that it could put lots of pressure on the end of the limbs. i called 5 dealers in my area and even cabelas and not a one has a string. Thanks a bunch to all of you. which custom string is available i can have maybe in 2 or 3 weeks

Dan is the man . As long as you are not in a rush when talking to him .
There is many custom string makers here also . Difference is it takes time with these masters unless they have one on hand . Dan has many on hand a head of time since he supplies for Excalibur .

I take it yer from Tn. & yer Dealer said you have run out of string twists. ? How long you owned the Matrix. I spect if'en less a couple months yer Dealer needs to be fired. You can look around fer a decent string maker. You don't have enuff posts fer a pm. Seems a few others on here have offered a free string, i would also to keep you in the game

I just ordered a string for my Phoenix from Danny a couple of days ago. I felt like I was talking to a legend! Never less it was painless and I can't wait to get my string. Give Danny a call.

It sounds to me like your dealer does not have a clue. None at all about crossbows at least. How does one run out of twists? If you have a stringer simply twist that string counter clock wise till you get it a 1/4" off the bumpers.

ive had my matrix for almost 2 years but probably only shot it 40 times tops. i kept it adjusted the first year and when i got my REDS is when i carried to to the bow shop when i was getting some new arrows. ive only shot it 5 times with the brace height being so low. It just didnt seem right so thats when i decided to post on this forum. I appreciate all the help so fast on here. I am going to give Mr. Danny a call.

Twist yer string up get it off the REDS, its that simple

You may want to refer your "dealer" to this site as it is clear that he/she does not have a lot of knowledge about Excalibur CBs and you may save some other folks some grief. I believe that you can do a search for brace height & find many posts on the subject. As far as string twists it does NOT matter which end you remove to put the CCW twists into. Good luck
