Fletching Firebolts

Post by ko4nrbs »

I need to replace several vanes on some of my Firebolt arrows. Which vanes should I use?

2" Blazer vanes are a great choice.. I would strip all your arrows and refletch them all..

I use them in a Excalibur Exomax crossbow. Does that make a difference?

I put Blazers on all my arrows and I`m very pleased with their performance. As Grassy mentioned if you`re doing some you may as well do all. :)

So use straight 2" Blazers? If I decide to stay with the 4 inch which ones would you recommend?

Buy an Arizona E-Z fletch Bolt and go with Blazers, you won't be disappointed!

X2 what Wabi said since you don't have a jig yet .

The "Bolt" model is a great jig designed for 2" vanes, specifically the Blazer vane which is ideal for our bows and broadheads as the jig will put on a nice helical which helps stabilize the arrow in flight..

Also don't be concerned with the amount of helical this jig puts on the vane, it will not interfere with the track in the rail..

The Bolt also cleans up real nice if soaked in acetone for 20-30 minutes after each use. The acetone Will Not hurt this jig even though it is made of plastic.

Here is a video that shows how to use the jig.. The jig in this video is not the "Bolt" jig, but the instructions are the same... Also the choice of glue is up to you as well.. Hope this helps..
