Rescued a beagle & bagged a doe!!

Post by georgiaboy »

I was driving to my hunting area this afternoon in a light rain and found a male beagle standing in the middle of the road shivering like a freight train. :(
Since i'm 15 miles from any home and miles from the nearest paved road it's obvious some asshat just dumped him off. When i pulled over little man just ran over and jumped in my truck, curled up in a knot and went to sleep!
I drove on to my hunting spot...secured little man and made the 3/4 mile walk to my tree. The rain stopped about 5:00 and a few minutes later i had a small doe broadside at 28yds. I let her walk and ten minutes later a mature doe gave me a broadside at 30 yds. The vixen & the slick trick did their magic...double lung and a short blood trail. 8)
It took me over an hour to drag her back to the truck  getting to old for this!
The doe is in the cooler now...sorry the pics didn't turn out. It started raining on me again. Now i just have to find little man a home.

What a great day it sounds like. They say that angels are all around us. Perhaps that was your test of the day.

Great story...Little dog is lucky and so are you!

Why not consider keeping him and a good name for him would be "Karma".
