Oklahoma Success

Post by retrieverman »

There has been a decline in deer activity with the opening of Oklahoma archery season for some reason(don't know if it's got to do with the moon or the weather change or both), but my youngest son and I have still been pretty successful. First he score the big 10 point he was after, and I bagged a doe this morning and a big 7 point this evening. My son is shooting my M380 with a Boo string (topped with a Leopold VXIII 1.5-5 illuminated scope), 20" Fire Bolts with 150 gr Boltcutters, and I'm shooting my Micro with a Boo string (topped with a Leopold VXIII 1.5-5 illuminated scope), 16.5" Laser II Pro Series bolts, and 100 gr Carbon Express XT4 broadheads. Both setups have proven to be very efficient at putting meat on the ground.
This has turned out to be the best opening weekend ever for us.
