Dead zone rings and bases

Post by GRUNDY »

I noticed the rings and bases of my deadzone scope have like a very thin double sided tape like substance on the inside of both rings, and bases. I thought this was kinda strange, but I've not had to install or remove a scope in probably 15 years so maybe this is some new thing that scopes are coming with?

What has anyone else noticed?

Thanks,

It's a "new" thing. To help keep the scopes from moving. Noticed it over the last several years myself. :)

Times are a changin I guess.

I figured that's what is was for, but didn't really see why. I've never had a scope move on me without that stuff.

Seems like a work-a-round for something
