first shot of the season

Post by Cityboy »

so i started my season the eve of opening day in Michigan. the wind was NOT cooperating. Thurs.-Sat. it was windy as hell.
Sunday things calmed down a bit so out to my cousin's ground blind i went. at around 7:15pm a nice doe comes in to munch on some corn. so i took my shot and she took off like a bat outta hell. as i came out of the blind i could hear her thrashing off to my left and i new she was down.
i didnt go to the blind with any gear besides the bow, an extra arrow, and cocker.
so i walked back to the house and grabbed my uncle, lights, rope and off we went.
i wanted to find my arrow first to be absolute that i had hit 'er. once found, all the white vanes were pink.
made a very clean 35-40 yard shot on 'er. clean pass through both lungs. she ran 50-60 yards. not bad for my first deer.

hmmm, cant seem to post a pic from Photobucket.
