A good deer decoy may help. Lot's of info on the web and some good videos on You Tube.

I bought two manufactured by Tinks but haven't used them yet.

either set up closer if it seems like habit or pull em in and stop them. give them something to be curious about. Ive used vanilla and pumpkins in the past. expired Veggies from the garden. Put it out in the open and watch them come curiously in. They focus so hard on the foreign object that they don't notice movement in the trees!

...that, or they run away. One of the two. :lol:
most times I find they come in. Sometimes after backtracking a bit but one they realise its not chasing them they investigate. I had it once where I was crouched down in a field glassing another field with deer in it. I got up and a doe had snuck right up on me to check me out. I could have reached out and touched her! curious creatures.

anyways, with that many seen, im sure its just a matter of time until ya bag one!

Thanks for all the kind words and pep talk. I will take every advantage as I can. That why I said the prayers not only while hunting but just now. The one Rev. xcaliber wrote. :D

My theory is there are some smart deer out there and some dumb ones, too. Sit long enough and a dumb one will wander by. :shock: :lol: :lol:

Had a fawn bust me yesterday morning in my ladder stand by my feeder. It came charging in to the feeder as I was adjusting the hood on my sweatshirt and it caught my movement. I froze in position when I saw it looking up at me. After several times of walking off a few steps and then snapping it's head up to look at me it was finally munching corn at the feeder. Hunger won out over caution. :lol:
No - I didn't shoot it.

I got busted more than once yesterday. Until then I didnt really know what a snort sounded like. I do now and that just started my new skill set that I am try to adopt.

You that thing that someone once posted (not sure where or who said it).

But what the was this;

" You new object in the middle of the road and the deer only its new and will avoid it for while until they know its a permanent object"

I got busted on that one too. But its all good, you must first make a mistake before you can correct it.

I am in a good place on the experience. :D
