Results from Swhacker

Post by wvnitroman »

This is my first season with a crossbow, a Matrix 355 and 125gr. 2.25" Swhackers. My seven year old grandson told me a couple months ago he wanted to go deer hunting so I bought a ground blind, set it up about 5 weeks ago, and we headed out Saturday afternoon for the first time. I was convinced that we were not going to have any success as he was not feeling well and was coughing frequently. On top of that the one leg broke completely off my plastic lawn chair almost throwing me on the ground. I laughed and figured we would at least have some quality time together. About 5pm the Lord graciously provided me with a 20yd shot on a doe. I already knew that anything I shot from this blind would result in costing me an arrow and broadhead because of the terrain. However, this doe was heading toward a tree so I decided to wait until she was in front of it and I would shoot then hoping I could dig the arrow and broadhead out of the tree and maybe at least the arrow would survive. It passed completely through and buried about 1 1/2" in the tree. To my surprise, they both survived except it bent one blade. They both still spin true. I shot through both lungs totally destroying a rib of each side and the short blood trail looked like Freddy Kruger ( Nightmare on Elm Street) had been in the woods, the blood absolutely poured out both sides. So, needless to say my grandson and I have a great memory and the Swhacker gets a big thumbs up.

I have had great luck with Swhackers. Wanted to shoot 100 gain this year but still wanted around a 2.25" cutting diameter so I switched to rages. Hoping for the same performance.
