Matrix 330 Limb tip

Post by Sooner44 »

Howdy all,

I was going over my M330 this afternoon checking out everything before I go out again this weekend and noticed a crack developing on the right limb tip. I had a few void spots in the glue when I got the bow, but the crack just showed up.
Have any of you had this issue ? Also, I do have a picture that I can post if I can figure out how to post it.

Both my 355 and 380 have the same thing the excess glue from the limb tip can show what looks like a crack. not to worry. just keep a eye on it .

Well, i guess that could be, but I really don't think this is excess glue curing, looks like cracking to me.

I agree with your position, if I had a spare set of limbs I wouldn't worry about it either, but I don't. Peace of mind is a powerful thing, something I like to have :)
I'll keep shooting it because I have no choice, other than going to my back-up bow.
Here's the deal, I own a lot of higher end hunting weapons, rifles, pistols, bows and other goodies. I buy quality equipment for a purpose and reasons that include reliability, accuracy, durability, and cosmetic. cracking glue joints may not be a big deal, but I didn't pay for cracked glue joints and would prefer not to have any. Now every time I use this bow I'll be checking that crack to see if it's getting worse, it's a mental thing that I think many of us go through with issues like this. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, just don't like cracks anywhere, in anything.

Don't blame you, but I have owned most makes out there and trust me, if I thought there was one bow that was capable of performing better for my purpose, I would not own three Excaliburs,,, and have sold everything else,,,

same with with my hunting guns, there are a lot of handguns prettier out there than my Blackhawks and Freedom Arms, but I don't own them either,,,, I just like what works best and will accept the trivial things that go with them.

Excal warranty got back to me today and told me to ship the bow to an archery shop in Effingham, Il. Looks like I'll package it up and send it off.

If you are required to ship the bow just unbolt the riser from the mainframe and send the front end to save on shipping size and weight on your end.
Are you able to ship the limbs only?

I don't know, I called the archery shop they suggested and the guy that takes care of Excal warranty was already gone for the day. I had a few questions regarding what I needed to send. I was hoping just the riser and limbs so I didn't have to take the scope off. I was really hoping I could just get the parts and torque values and replace it myself. I'll call in the morning and see what the turn-around time will be along with what I need to ship to them.
