help with new bow please

Post by vpsaline »

I wanted to replace the string on my new bow and accidentally placed the stringer aid ABOVE the arrow retention spring. Needless to say, it bent out of shape. So I removed the scope rail from the bow and bent the spring back into shape. The spring is fine now. Problem is, the bow won't cock anymore, when I cock it back, the string bumps against the trigger rather then behind it. Please help. Thanks

thanks, but the trigger claws only move approx 2-3mm when I force it with a pencil. not enough to get by the string...

It seems like one of the two screws that holds the retention spring (back screw) controlls the height of the trigger claws. Is this normal? I've since adjusted the back screw and the bow cocks fine now. Strange that only 1 of the 2 retention spring screws actually holds the spring down...

These guys that have been around awhile can save a lot of time and frustrated effort and like Scott says most of them have encountered the same problems at one time or another. I've already received some tips and advice that have saved some bacon and I appreciate it.
