New Double Ladder Stand - PICS ADDED

Post by j.krug »

I picked up a Rivers Edge Relax 2 Man ladder stand today. I got it so my daughters can come sit in the tree with me. They often come and sit in my blind with me but it's just not the same as being up in a tree, not nearly as much to see when sitting on the ground in the blind. I hunt open farmland and can see several fields over from my tree stands. I see deer almost every time I go out even if they are a field or two over. It's always nice to see deer even if they're not in range. The gals were super excited when I told them I bought it this morning. Headed out now to assemble it now and gonna put it up at the farm tomorrow morning. Very excited about this myself as I want them to enjoy time in the field as much as I do. :D

HeeHee!! You just never know. :D

I got it together yesterday and was hoping to put it up today but I'm not feeling well, been fighting a cold and sinus infection for a couple weeks. Will probably put it up tomorrow after work. :)

Please remember to put a second & third Prusik loop on the lifeline so that all of you are hooked up when using the tree stand! I have the top of my lifelines set at shoulder height when standing in the stand and the other end at the base of the ladder.

Well my youngest daughter Rebecca and I got out to my uncle's farm yesterday and got the double ladder stand up in a good spot and we also put up a single ladder stand that I picked up. We had a lot of fun together putting them up and she marvelled at the surrounding view from way up in the tree. She told me, "Dad it's so nice I could sit up here all day and just look around.". Priceless for the old man!!

Putting them up was easy but getting them back to where I hunt was a chore. It's just over a kilometre walk one way and we needed to make several trips back and forth carrying sections of the stands as the crops are still on and we couldn't drive back. She took it like a real trooper and I was quite proud of her determination.

We saw quite a bit of good deer sign which is encouraging. We're both excited to go out Friday after work to hunt together in the double stand.

Will try to post pics soon. :)

That's great Brother. My little girl loved being up in the tree when we put it up yesterday.

We put up a Altan double this year - sooooo nice to have a stand with lots of extra room... or for sharing. :D
