S5 string stops

Post by dmini »

Need some advice from the experts. How far from the string to the S5 stops, I have seen everything from just touching, to a credit cards width. This is on a 2014 Equinox. Thanks,
Al

I don't know much about the older models, but on my Matrix 330 at 1/4"
On my 310 with the Dr Stirrup db killers I keep 1/16"

My Axiom is about 2 buisness card widths..working well there and not splitting or damaging the bumpers at all.

....is it safe to say that there is no perfect answer... Even with the 335... There are those keeping it on the line to those who keep it just behind the line....I guess the important factor is watching your brace height @ 1cc width or 2 or before the line or after it and make sure it stays the same or adjust accordingly.....correct?

Anthony,

I think on the wider, older, models the gap can be less, even down to about 1 or 2 business card widths...

On the Matrix and Micro models I think most still go with the recognized 3/16"-1/4" gap as a safe standard... I know both work for me with the appropriate models and I try to keep them very close to those gaps.
