Re: New Member
Well, I have been a vbow shooter for about 30 years now and finally decided to get what I have always wanted, an Excalibur crossbow. I decided on the M330 and it should be here tomorrow evening if all goes as planned. I bought a Horton Summit two years ago for my daughters (12 and 10) to go hunting with me and after quite a few practice sessions, they were ready to go. My oldest was first. She got a quartering away shot at a nice little 7 pt and put the Slick Trick right where she wanted it to go, he ran 30 yds and was stone dead! My youngest daughter got to go with me for the first time (actually her doing the hunting) two weeks ago. About an hour after daylight, she noticed a deer headed our way. I could tell that it was a buck so I got really excited! She made a perfect shot at 20 yds and he made it 40 yds befoe falling in a heap of leaves and dust. She was a very happy little girl and I am still one proud dad! He was a 14" or so 8pt and he as at the taxidermy shop as we speak. Im telling you, out of all of the hunting stories that I have accumulated over the years, these two are on the top of my list. It is tough to get everything situated in the blind with shooting sticks, making sure that their hands are below the string, loud candy wrappers, giggly little girls, and an adrenaline drunk daddy. To have them pull it off was almost more than I could handle. Anyway, I thought that I would go ahead and get the bow that I have always wanted so that I could at least enjoy shooting it in the yard because I am both afraid and hopeful that it will be in the hands of a younger hunter come crunch time. For all of the daddys out there, you know what I mean when I say that I can truthfully say I would rather watch them than do it myself. Sorry for the long story Happy hunting!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. My oldest daughter and I will be out back in a bit to try and get her first of the year. It is Muzzleloading season here right now but she wants to take her bow.

.....Pickwick....it tickles my innards when I see the next generation get all excited about hunting...looks you brought those two young ladies up appreciating and loving hunting...those two lasses are doing mighty fine for themselves....I always say..."it's all about them and not about us!"
