Should I upgrade to a Matrix?

Post by paprof »

Hey all,

This might be a dumb question to ask here but...to make a long story short.
I have an Equinox with a decent Hawke scope setup, owned since 2010.

Been eying a Matrix 380 for some time.

Mostly hunt from a Ghostblind or just sitting under a tree.

Should I take the plunge and upgrade? Not sure if I will sell the ol' Equinox yet, may keep it as a backup. What're some pros and cons from those who have used both the wide limbs and the Matrixes?

Thanks
Rob

Here we go!!! Get ready for it Rob. All of the members who own 2, 3, 4, 5 crossbows are going to come out of the dark and encourage you to go for it and keep the one you have as back up. Be careful my friend, these guys can be contagious.

Hawke XB30 Pro
8ptbuk Custom Flemish String
Spynal Tapp 314gr 18" Bolts

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

If the width of the nox is not an issue for the way you hunt than there is really no reason to upgrade. Your nox will kill em dead just the same.

That being said who needs a reason. I upgraded because I wanted to not because I needed to.

Guess it depends on what you do with it. If it sits in a closet till a couple weeks before deer season what's the point of changing it. Target shooting or 3D are you going to want to cock it all day long. To many variables for me to make up your mine for you. I am keeping my long limbers and no intentions of moving up in draw weight.
