deer vocals

Post by longbow joe »

Im no worldly hunter by far but my hunting spots are in a 12mile radius. But i find it so crazy how deer 5 miles away have different quirks . My one best spot is really underhunted and the deer are extreemly vocal grunting and baahing all day to each other . A couple miles down the road total non vocal silence. One thing i noticed who others might disagree is the p.a. and n.j. deer in my opinion dont really go crazy for ratteling. Ive only rattled a handfull of bucks in over 38 years. Now the grunt call has worked wonders for me.its to the point that i rarely rattle anymore. Its grunt call
only .Has anyone else experienced this

I always thought that we had silent deer. Saturday before last I heard a grunt for the first time. I waited a minute and give a doe grunt back, then minute or so I hear a deep grunt! Oh yeah, its fixin' to be on!!!

Then my tripod fell out from under me
