Original Exocet Broadheads?

Post by Kuffs »

Hi guys, i was digging through my closet and found the original 6 broadheads that came with the Exocet. There's nothing written on them and I'm trying to figure out if I can use them with my compound or if I'd be able to one day use them when I get my hands on a Micro.

Does anyone know or remember how heavy they were? 100gr, 125gr, 150gr (which i dont think)

I think the new micro uses 150gr so would they be good for it?

Thanks
Rob

The oldest I ever used was the 130 gr Wasp Cam-Loks. Great killers!

Ho Boo, it's not those ones. They have black on them. If I had to guess I'd say they were anywhere with the exception bought between between 2006-2008

That's the one! Any idea on the weight of them? Would they be good on the new micro if I bought one?

Ah so the reality is theres no way to know unless I can get them weighed.

I noticed the new Crossbows are using 150gr tips. I guess that means these would be too light? Or can I use them with heavier bolts? Im gearing towards a Micro.

Thanks

You really should spend the $20.00 or less and get yourself a scale.
150 gr broadhead's give you better FOC but you can also increase FOC by using brass inserts.

Just checked one that I have I see no wt on it . But I know it is 100 grain I would say that most were 100 grain.

Ok so I borrowed a scale and they are 100 gr. As of now I can use them.with my compound bow but would they be too light for the micro? It's not much faster than what the exocet 200 used to fire them at.

Depends on your arrow configuration. If you are using the Quills then I wouldn't. If you are using something with a brass insert then yes.

Forgive my ignorance but I'm not sure what you mean. I would start with the 4 bolts that can with the micro. I would buy more but just assume I buy some over the counter bolts at bass pro Or something.

The inserts can be made of different things like brass and that effects the wt of the bolt . I shoot an Exomax and use gold tip laser 2 bolts they have brass inserts which make them a little heaver on the front I shoot 125 grain blades . But will sometimes shoot 100 grain field points for fun all the lighter wt does is make the bolt go a little high I know this and adjust my sight by lining up the scope cross lower . If you want to use them practice with one and adjust your scope or sight to zero it in .
