***Looking at Getting My First Crossbow/Bow, Help needed.***

Post by Goober »

Hello Guys/Gals. I'm looking at getting my first crossbow/bow and was wondering if you's could help.
Im in my mid 30's weigh 135Lbs and have fibromyalgia. I'm looking at a crossbow as you's know its easier to pack up and go bow hunting than it is rifle/shotgun hunting.
Im looking to spend between $500-$700 on a full package and was wondering what would be the best bow to purchase in that price range.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Jamie

Welcome to the forum Jamie. Don't forget to fill out your demographic information under the User Control Panel area so we know where you hail from.

I too had budgetary restraints so I went with the Grizzly and don't regret one minute of it.

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

If there are some physical constraints to take into account i would stay with a low poundage bow...but they will still kill any animal you want to hunt no problem. :D :D
The Grizzly package or the Vixen II package.
Good luck and keep us posted. :)

Goober, welcome first off, and I'm glad to hear that you plan to hunt. Your best bet is the Grizzly in my opinion as well. Plenty of bow, should last a good long time, and give you a great overall shooting, and hunting experience.

Awesome to hear your gonna be in the field knockin the big ones down. Myself I purchased a grizzly. Price wasn't a issue but for what the grizzly offered was well suitable for all my needs. If you were in my area Dayton Ohio id say lets hit the range an you could do all the tinkering an shooting u need to with it just to get a feel instead of making a blind purchase

Welcome for sure.. And the Grizzly is a good knock em down fairly easy bow to cock freezer filler, that won't leave a big hole in your pocket. A good choice..

The Grizzly package comes ready to shoot, but you'll need to get some broadheads probably (not included), and a stringer (for BH adjustment) while you're at your store of choice or online. Welcome to the forum!

Don't overlook buying a good used bow. There's not a lot to wear out, and if something does fail, the maker does a good job of standing behind their product.

With new models coming on the market, lots of folks sell off their perfectly good older models.
