Controlled hunt 2015 Chapter 2

Post by Doe Master »

Fast forward to the next day . My nephew could not get the whole week off so he went back to work . My brother decided to sit in the same stand as John did the day before . It has been a very productive stand in the past . That is why we put John there in the first place . The morning started out deathly quiet .
But at about 8:00 a booming shot rings out not 100 yards from me . The deer comes crashing towards me to come to a halt maybe 50 yards from me . All of a sudden my radio is buzzing . My brother informs me it is a doe . :D But as he is talking he says there is a buck now standing where he just moments before shot the doe . A PAUSE . The ka-boom !!!!
The buck comes towards me and ends up head planting into a blow down .

No getting the cart into these two .

A happy person with a double quick time . :)

The life of a deer model .

We decided to bring them out together as far as we could .
Image
Our last big obstacles . The Ditch .

My brother making his way to the vehicle with the grocery cart .
Image
A celebratory toast .
Image
It is all fun to shoot but the work is not finished until wrapped .
Image
How can people say that we do it only for the kill . A few scenery pictures . :)

Image
Not a bad week off . Just getting the racks ready for the mounting .
Image
On the way out Saturday I pulled the card on the camera .
To be continued ......

:) :) Definitely they are brothers- -Kevin gets 2 so Scott has to get two,but they didn't have to be all at once. Congratulations this makes up for the lean year last year. I guess I don't have to cringe everytime there is a double ring phone call for a week or so.

Way more than just the kill for sure Kevin!! Putting venison in the freezer is a bonus for sure but time spent outdoors and hunting with family and friends is priceless!!

Way to go fellas. :)
