5th Doe pic

Post by vixenmaster »

I am my Hang-on jus hangin around, about 7:35am a herd of deer came by me 40-55 yds out. I jus watched them go by n counted them, lookin fer headgear. 19 of them all Doe's n young'ens, i let them go out of sight. Waited 6-7 min's n grunted in hopes a Buck was followin. Couple min's later i hear lots of foot-steps n here comes all those deer back. They be eyes n ears wid the noses n lookin to frolic, :) So i let about 15 or so walk off, had a big Doe stop about 35 yds . I put my 30 yds mark on her n let the Hellrazor fly, smack! Deer runnin every where. I cocked Capt. Morgan again n jus sat there fer 20 min's lookin n waitin maybe some Buck wants to ease by. Nutten so i get down wid all my goods n walk over to where i shot the deer. I cast around n look n look no arrow, finally found a few hairs n spect or two of blood. Its all down hill after she jumped the fence, no deer blood jus a drop here n there. I am goin up the hill n 150 yds from where i shot her. Almost to the top of hill the blood has started to flowin decent. Abit over 200 yds from where she was shot she lay. Double lung pass-through. So ppl. don't tell me how great fixed Broadheads are, they be jus broadheads. Doe weighted about 140 lbs before field dressin her. As you can see by the hole it were one heck of a good shot!

Really nice doe! I have been passing on does since I killed one early in the season in order to save my freezer space for a buck or for gun season. If I don't kill a buck opening day, I'll be looking for a big doe like her to keep me in venison as long as possible.

Congratulations on a real trophy of a doe!

Nice doe Mike. It never ceases to amaze me just how far a double lung hit deer can go. You know she was running dead on her feet for quite a ways. I do think you might have a new record at 200 yards.

Congrats on that nice doe Mike! Perfect shot too. How on earth did that deer make it 200 yards with a hole like that through both lungs? !!!! I just don't get it. I'm unfamiliar with the hellrazor broadheads but that's unbelievable! :?: :?: :?:.....and with almost no blood trail. DANG!

Just looked up the hellrazor.....looks a lot like a Montec. While I like how the Montec flies, and that it is 1 piece construction, I have not experienced good bloodtrails with them. I think it's cause the angle of the blade is 60 degrees (30 degee bevel) instead of 50 (25 degree bevel). I can never sharpen a Montec to shave my arm like I can other things at 25 degrees. SO yeah they punch holes but don't seem to do as much fine cutting. JMHO. YMMV.
