Gorilla glue with the blue top. Can't beat it as far as I know...
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Boo, I have watched the video at least 5 times now, and am trying to figure out what kind of glue you are using on the inserts. I believe you state that it is an epoxy(two part), but the bottle you are holding looks a lot like the gorilla blue top. Could you pls help me with that?

We are using the blue top Gorilla Glue. We just talked about 24 hr epoxy being the best, that's all.
I am considering doing a pictorial with text on my website.

Thanks again. I'm glad to not be seeing or hearing things different from what is really going on. Can't be too sure as this age thing starts to play it's tricks on a person. LOL

Boo wrote:As some of you know, I am moving into a house on my farm in Newtonvile. I expect that I'll be moved in before the end of this month. Getting the house set up will likely take a month or so. That being said, by January, I'll have some freed up time.
The reason for this thread is to ask if anyone is interested in learning how to put together some arrows. If there are interested parties, please, let's talk about it. I don't want a one on one lesson, but I don't mind spending a couple/few weekends with a couple/few individuals.
I can supply everything needed, from tools to materials. It can be in January, Feb, Mar and April. The only dates I have to avoid is the Jan 5th to Jan 7th and Karin's birthday which I don't remember at this time. If anyone remembers that last date, there's no point telling me now, cuz I ain't gonna remember. Whatever and I'm not going to ask her.
Anyone interested?
Not sure if the link to the video is in here, but you can sift through it.

Pretty interesting, and looks fairly simple.
I do have a couple questions though =
What about squaring the end of the shaft?
And do you have any info on spine indexing?

Thanks.

When I cut my shafts, I'm super careful as the guys who came to the workshop can attest to. They can also attest to how square they come out. You cannot see any gap between the shaft and the insert. However, squaring the insert isn't super critical. Squaring the insert once assembled is important.
The only info I can give you on spine indexing is this tool that I use. http://www.ram-products.com/spinetester-p/cqc.htm
